Use a trusted desktop player from its official publisher, add the supplied information, and test the playlist on Windows or Mac.
Choose the right guide
This route is for Windows desktop or laptop computers and Mac computers. The source-supported VLC path uses a supplied playlist URL; other account formats require a compatible player with matching named fields.
Numbered setup
For the source-supported VLC path, obtain VLC only from the official VideoLAN publisher website. Use an operating-system store or official publisher for any alternative player.
In VLC on Windows, choose Media and then Open Network Stream. On Mac, choose File and then Open Network.
Copy the complete M3U or playlist value into the network address field, check that no characters or spaces were added, and choose Play or Open.
Keep the player open while it retrieves the playlist. If playback starts immediately, open the playlist or sidebar view to browse other entries.
Open VLC’s playlist view to browse and switch entries. Use the player’s own search or category view if a different compatible desktop player was supplied.
If the player can remember the stream or account, use that option only on a computer you control. Test reopening the saved item before relying on it.
Playback checkpoint
Complete a short check before changing player settings or adding the account again.
Confirm the supplied playlist opens without a malformed-address error.
Open one entry, let it play briefly, and then test a second entry.
Open the playlist panel and verify that you can return to and select entries.
Common problems
Work through the relevant checks in order. If the problem continues, share the device model, player name, and exact on-screen message with Support without exposing account details.
Copy the complete supplied value again, remove leading or trailing spaces, and confirm that the correct Open Network action is being used.
Test another entry, confirm the computer is online, and review any normal firewall prompt for the trusted player. Contact Support if several entries fail.
Pause downloads and cloud synchronisation, restart the network, and try Ethernet. Test another entry before assuming that the computer or connection is the only cause.
Open the player’s playlist or sidebar panel and use its search where available. A trusted desktop player with guide support may be more suitable when the supplied account format supports it.
Confirm it came from the official publisher, install current system updates, and follow the operating system’s normal security message. Do not bypass security for an unknown download.
Restart the player and computer, update the player from its official publisher, and close memory-heavy applications before loading the playlist again.
Device questions
Use the official VideoLAN publisher website. Avoid repackaged installers or unknown download pages.
VLC uses Media, then Open Network Stream on Windows and File, then Open Network on Mac. Both actions accept the supplied playlist URL.
